X. GENERAL RULES

10.1 In all matters that may occur during the Competition decisions of the Organizing Committee shall be final.
10.2 In the event that a contestant violates the Competition rules, the Jury Panel will reserve the right to expel the contestant from the Competition.
10.3 During the Competition contestants must abstain from making any declaration to the mass media except for the allowed by the Committee.
10.4 Winners of the Competition shall perform without receiving a fee in the Gala Concert(s) organized by the Competition Committee.
10.5 The Association shall reserve all exclusive worldwide right to broadcast and audio and video-recordings as well as distribution and publishing rights for all the rounds of the Competition and its related events, such as the Opening, Awards, and Closing Ceremonies, and the performances with the symphony orchestra in the final round and Gala Concert(s). The Association shall reserve the exclusive all rights worldwide to use recorded audio and video materials free of charge and without obtaining the permission of the contestants, accompanists, conductors, or symphony orchestras.
10.6 The Association will reserve the exclusive rights for all types of performances of the laureates for the period of 18 months following the Competition. The final round participants shall sign an agreement with the Association with respect to this matter.
10.7 The Association reserves the right to transfer the rights stated in Articles 10.5 and 10.6 above to a third person.
10.8 The official languages of the Competition are Japanese, Russian and English. The Japanese version is considered to be the authoritative one. In the event that anyone wishes to translate officially the "Rules and Regulations" or any other published materials by the Association or the Organizing Committee, he/she must notify the Organizing Committee and the Association of this action and obtain their consent. If such approval has not been given, neither the Committee nor the Association shall take responsibility for any problems arising from or caused by the misinterpretation of the translated materials.
10.9 Participation in the Competition means full agreement and fulfillment of the above rules and conditions. In case all paragraphs to the present Rules are not observed by the contestant, the Organizing Committee and Association shall have the right to disfranchise the laureate of the title.
