V INTERNATIONAL TCHAIKOVSKY COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS

VIII.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

8.1
|
Contestants shall pay the cost of their travel to Japan and back by
themselves. The Organizing Committee will bear the following expenses:

Local transportation expenses (as a rule transportation expenses for
transfer by bus, train or airplane from three airports (Narita Airport,
Kansai Airport or Okayama Airport) to Kurashiki). Contestants living in
Japan shall pay the transportation fee to Kurashiki and back by their own.

Reimbursement of economy air traveling cost for the flight to Japan
and back for Contestants admitted to the Third (final) Round (or
finalists).The reimbursement shall be made as follows: Europe - $ 1000,
Asia - $ 500, North America - $800, Africa and South America - $1500,
Australia - $800. (The decision concerning the choice of the region is
up to the Committee)

8.2
|
The Organizing Committee shall provide each contestant with free
lodging and breakfast for the period from August 30, 2003, the
registration day for each division, till the next morning after the
official announcement of the final results.

8.3
|
Expenses for travel and accommodation of parents, private piano
accompanists, teachers and other accompanying persons shall be borne by
the contestant. Without offering any guarantees, the Organizing
Committee, upon request, will provide assistance in locating
accommodations for these persons, and also will send the invitation letters.

8.4

In the event that a contestant who was not admitted to the next
round wishes to stay until the end of the Competition, he/she must be
responsible to cover expenses for his/her accommodation for the rest of
the period of stay and agree their departure date with the Organizing
Committee.

8.5
|
Participants shall be responsible for the arrangement and cost of
the transport and customs clearances of their own instruments.

8.6
|
The Organizing Committee shall supply the contestants with
additional information on the traveling and accommodation after the
contestants receive a formal invitation to the Competition.
